Project overview

This project involved the complete fire safety upgrade of a 12 storey combined retail/residential building. Kingsley Hall was one of our first major fire upgrade projects and one of over 20 projects with consultants, Building Safety Services Pty Ltd. The building is typical of many inner city projects in that access is limited and the building is fully occupied.

Work consisted of a new sprinkler system to all areas; new hydrant and hose reel system including pumps; exit and emergency lighting; a fully addressable smoke detection system; an emergency warning intercom system; new solid core doors to units; enclosure of the stairwell; stair pressurisation system; new fixed glass windows and various fire rated components to achieve compartmentisation. Additional building works included new carpet to all common areas, new ceilings to conceal the upgrade works and painting throughout.
